spending more time cleaning than posting, it seems! Next big goal, Monday night, 4-H meeting, must be ready for that! :-D
two days ago was one of my first days to be home - I did a 30-second sprint in three different rooms, PLUS laundry and dishes. I still have lots of catching up to do, mostly with laundry, but definately feeling good about what I did get done! Also moved the fence around for the horses, so they have more fresh grass to eat. Takes them a couple of days to eat what I give them when I do that. lol It's a lot of work for two days' feed, but still it's free food for them and free lawn mower & fertilizer, for us, all in one.
Yesterday, I spent a lot of time looking for my one wallet - I use it to carry what I don't use as regularily as my driver's licence, bank card, etc. I need it for hockey season - has my coach and trainer certification cards in it. Didn't find it, but I did sort through a lot of stuff and managed to get rid of a lot of junk!
but that doesn't mean I haven't been cleaning! This past Monday, I had company AND a 4-H meeting, here, so I did a HUGE cleaning job, that day! Lots of decluttering, leaving a whole lot less stuff to hide away in my room! Worked so hard on it, I ended up needing a day or two to recover! :-) Yesterday, I de-cluttered a whole set of shelves in our bedroom and feel so good about that! Every little bit helps!
Thanksgiving is almost here. Not sure I'm going to be doing anything special for it here, after all, as Sarah and I will be at the Norfolk County Fair, almost all this upcoming week, right up to and including Thanksgiving Monday. Today, we're at the Caledonia Fair, all day. Life is sooo busy - it's amazing - and that's even without having to send Joe off to work, four nights a week. Because we're so busy, during the fair, I do want to get a bit more done, before it starts. Might yet have a belated Thanksgiving celebration. Dad's combining, so that's typical for us, anyway! :-) And we still have Christmas! :-D
Worked, 11 - 5, today, in Brantford. Was a rather hectic day, there - made the time (and energy) go fairly quickly. A good day, though, but got home and housework really wasn't my main priority. But, I still want to get it done - Home for the Holidays!
So, I hid in my room and worked through two 'treasure chests' - in this case, two cardboard boxes full of stuff that needs to be sorted. Purged a good pile of burnable garbage ('cause we do that, here) and a bit of regular garbage and I labelled my two treasure chests - each one of them has information that I will need before Monday night 4-H meeting! NOW I know where it is! Yay!
Now, it's bedtime and I've already had some chocolate milk (perfect bedtime 'snack' and I'm just wanting to do one little sprint, all for good measure! :-) That's the point of me keeping track! Keeps me moving! And really, thirty seconds isn't much! ;-) Ready, set, post and gone...
Another busy day, yesterday, though I didn't have to go out and earn a paycheque, anywhere! Time for some catching up? Not really, time to recover and refresh - have to work all weekend, too, so this is it.
Did some laundry and dishes throughout the day, but then at bedtime, I couldn't remember doing a sprint, so I did two! Yay!
Today, off to work. Laundry and dishes already well under way. Leaving for work in about two minutes, so my sprint will again have to be an evening one.
It's September 7 - one of the few precious days before the beginning of Holiday Season. Actually, Labour Day has just come and gone, already, but I had to work, so it wasn't really a holiday. Almost everybody's kids but mine have gone back to school. Thanksgiving will be here before we know it, then only a few days later seems to be Christmas, New Years and where did that time go?! And of course, being so close to Waterford, we also have Pumpkinfest to contend with.
Between house repairs/renovations, out-door work, a handful of part-time jobs, building my own businesses, raising three kids and 'facilitating' their education... , house work seems to be one of my last priorities and I have a hard time saving up enough time or energy to get any of it done.
So, here I go, I'm up and running, already today and I'm going to blog my journey - if for no other reason than to keep up the momentum. I'm wanting to be able to have people over for the holidays and if that meant today or tomorrow, I'd be in big trouble!
If anyone wants to follow along or add what it is that they do to survive - that would be great!
The point behind my title: 30-second sprint = Home for the Holidays, seems I've explained the Home/Holiday part, but the 30-second sprint? Was from how I'm up and running today. Despite all my tricks that I've tried, this one seems like something new and fun. Right here, where I'm sitting, I grabbed 10-items from four different places. Was supposed to be three, but I lost track - all for the better! Three places, 10 items, about 30 seconds, right? sounds good to me! Really didn't take much longer than that and wow, looks so much better, here, already!
I might try to do one sprint per day or maybe more. Right now, I have to sprint off to work, so I'll have to do more later! I'll admit, too, my dishwasher is running! :-D Leaving it in dh's care!
