I have to type out my letter, anyway, I figured I should just post it here, too, for anyone who needs ideas on how to
write theirs.
So, here's what I've been using for the past few years. It's worked for me, so far. Feel free to cut
and paste and use it. I put info in brackets what part will need to be personalized to match your needs. I also used all left-hand
margins, due to the nature of this medium. Use what margins you prefer. :-)
(Legal fine print: Just don't sue me if
you end up having trouble.) ;-)
OK...
Addressed on the envelope:
To: The Superintendant (Whatever
the name of your) District School Board
Now, the letter itself:
(Date)
To: Whom It May Concern
I
am writing to inform you of my intent to homeschool my child(ren):
(Full Name of child # 1 , Date of Birth , grade
_) (Full Name of child # 2 , Date of Birth , grade _) (etc)
(Optional: This year, we are using a variety of
different Curriculum/Programs which help us to meet or exceed the Ontario Provincial Guidelines.)
If you have any
questions or concerns, you may contact me at: 519-123-4567 (preferably during morning hours). Thank you for your time and
consideration.
Sincerely,
(leave seven spaces for your signature)
